Privacy Policy

Color by Math ("the App") is a children's educational coloring and math game designed for kids ages 4–8. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.

Summary

We collect no personal information whatsoever. The App works entirely offline for all gameplay. There are no accounts, no behavioral analytics, no advertising, and no social features. The one exception is anonymous, non-identifying crash reports — see "Crash Reporting" below.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share personal information, usage tracking, device identifiers tied to a user, location data, or any content your child creates.

Crash Reporting

If the App crashes, a small anonymous diagnostic report is sent to our crash-reporting service (Sentry) so we can fix the bug. These reports contain:

These reports do not contain personal information, the child's name, photos, coloring pictures, game progress, what pages were played, audio recordings, or any content the child produced. Reports are sent only when a crash actually happens (typically zero reports during normal use). Sentry is bound by a Data Processing Addendum under GDPR and does not combine this data with any other source.

Crash reports are automatically deleted within 90 days of being received.

Your Data Rights

The App collects no personal information linked to you or your child, so there is nothing to access, export, or delete on request. The only data that ever leaves the device is anonymous crash diagnostics (see "Crash Reporting" above), which contain no identifiers you could reference to locate "your" data. Those reports are automatically deleted within 90 days of being received.

If you uninstall the App, all on-device data (completed pages, badges, Smart Mode progress, saved pictures) is removed from the device by the operating system. No copy is retained by us.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The App is designed for children under 13 and complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and equivalent children's privacy laws worldwide.

Offline Gameplay

All gameplay runs 100% offline. Coloring pages, audio clips, translations, math problems, badges, and the child's saved progress are entirely on-device. The App makes no network requests during play. The only network activity that can occur is the crash-report upload described above, which happens only on an actual crash.

Parental Controls

Features that leave the App context (saving art to the device photo library, sharing art, accessing settings, opening the Parent Dashboard) are protected by a parental gate that requires solving a math problem designed to be hard for young children. After three wrong answers in a row, the gate enters a cooldown period to discourage guessing.

Photo Library Access

If a parent chooses to save a completed coloring to the device photo library, the App will request permission to access the photo library. This is the only device permission the App requests, and it is triggered only by explicit parental action behind the parental gate. No photos are uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone.

Data Storage

The App stores game progress (completed pages, star ratings, adaptive Smart Mode level, earned badges, session history, settings preferences, selected language) locally on the device using standard on-device storage. This data never leaves the device and is deleted when the App is uninstalled. Parents can reset this data at any time from the Parent Dashboard, which also keeps a one-time backup for recovery.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service the App uses is Sentry (sentry.io) for anonymous crash reporting as described above. Sentry's own privacy policy governs their handling of the diagnostic data. The App contains no advertising frameworks, behavioral analytics tools, social media integrations, or external links beyond the parental-gated share action initiated by the parent.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and include a notice in the App's update notes.
